Let’s be honest:
Being “good” at your job can be its own kind of trap.

You’re praised. Trusted. Relied on.
And yet—somewhere between all the deadlines and deliverables, a quiet voice inside you started whispering:

This isn’t it.

But how could that be true when you’re doing everything right?

This is the paradox I see in so many mid-level professionals:
They’ve become so competent, so efficient, so adaptable—they’ve accidentally built a career around what drains them.

They don’t feel burned out in the traditional sense.
They’re just...disconnected…numb.
Performing the role like a well-rehearsed script—with no room left for curiosity, creativity, or joy.

Here’s the truth:
When you’re too good at the wrong job, your success becomes your disguise.
Your performance gets rewarded—while your personhood fades.

So what ends up happening?

No one sees you unraveling.
No one asks if you’re okay.
And you start to think that maybe you’re tripping.
And you should just be grateful that you have a job.

But competence without alignment isn’t sustainable.
It’s survival mode dressed up in a blazer and a polished LinkedIn profile.

And if you’re starting to feel the weight of that performance, it doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.

It means your body, your spirit, your intuition is telling you:

“This role is too small for who you’ve become.”
